    Home Made Pond Vacuum

Anyone ever make their own vacuum? Most of the self priming pumps I see spec only for clear water, without debris.

Not sure if this would work for a pond, but I use a piece of plastic tubing to siphon water out of my tub garden, and I take advantage of the suction to vacuum gunk off the bottom.
